Video: our last course about using HA

ABSTRACT: HA in plastic surgery and periodontal regeneration

Predictable coverage of multiple adjacent recessions and single deep mandibular recessions is still a challenge for clinicians.
New data indicate that the use of the coronally modified advanced tunnel (MCAT) or the newly developed laterally closed tunnel (LCT) combined with different biological factors, connective tissue grafts, some collagen-based soft tissue grafts or combinations of these, can lead to predictable coverage of single and multiple adjacent gingival recessions and also to long-term stability.
In addition, in some well-selected cases, this technique can also be successfully applied to correct soft tissue defects around dental implants. Very recent data from preclinical and clinical studies have provided evidence that the use of hyaluronic acid can be used to correct soft tissue defects around dental implants.
Very recent data from preclinical and clinical studies have provided evidence that the use of hyaluronic acid can positively influence periodontal wound healing/regeneration in recessive defects, but also in intra-osseous and furcational defects. The course:

  • provided a comprehensive treatment philosophy on surgical risk factors and biological principles that must be considered to optimise clinical outcomes.
  • illustrated the step-by-step procedure of MCAT and LCT for the treatment of various types of soft tissue defects around teeth and dental implants.
